How Did John Wayne Gacy Get Arrested?

John Wayne Gacy was an American serial killer who killed 33 young men and boys in the 1972s and 1978s. He confessed to killing at least 33 of them.

His crimes remained hidden for over 30 years until he was arrested for murder on May 10th, 1994. Gacy’s victims were buried in the crawl space of his home in Chicago, Illinois.

Some of his victims were found dismembered in plastic bags, while others were dumped into a large mass grave on the property. He buried 26 victims.

The authorities obtained a search warrant for Gacy’s house after developing the suspicion that he might be taking Priest, a prisoner, there. Subsequently, they began conducting surveillance on Gacy’s residence.

The second search warrant led to the discovery of human remains in the crawlspace; as a result, the police were able to obtain a confession from Gacy, which, in turn, resulted in a more thorough search for bodies on his property.

After the investigation, he used a false name and was known as John Wayne Gacy.

Gacy was a 33-year-old salesman who lived alone with his mother. In 1971, Gacy moved to Chicago and began to kill his victims. In the 1970s, 

he killed at least 33 young men and boys between the ages of 14 and 30. The bodies of his victims were often buried in a crawl space under the floor of his house. In 1974, Gacy kidnapped two teenage boys and killed one of them.

The victim was found with his hands tied behind his back and a belt around his neck.

It led police to Gacy, and several of his victims were found buried in a crawl space beneath his home, and a mass grave containing 26 bodies was found on his property.

Following his conviction for sodomy in May of 1968, John was given a prison sentence of ten years. He was granted parole in 1970 after serving 18 months for excellent behavior while in prison.

In addition to charges of physical and sexual abuse, he was connected to cases involving people who went missing.
